Air Jam 2010!!!

Get pumped! Air Jam 2010 is coming soon! This event is always well attended by the Ball State community, and this year will be the most exciting year we have seen yet! Coronation of the 2010 Homecoming king, queen, and cournt will be during Air Jam again this year. This sell out event will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 9:00 p.m. in Emens Auditorium!

I am delighted and honored to be a poart of one of the most anticipated events of the week and cant wait to see the creative and exciting dance and lyracism with this years 'Rockin' theme! We have a lot of the same criteria as last year in regards to having a 20 entry limit with 7 alternate spots, each team will have a non-refundable $30 entry fee to be considered, and songs will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

There are 3 judging categories (Greek, Residence Hall, and Independent) with 5-20 people per team. Ashley Points will be awarded for group participation. Judges will award points to groups the fit the theme'Rock the Red' theme in their acts, dance, and accuracy of lip-sync.

I am very excited to meet all of you in the fall! With you cooperation and enthusiasm, I know that Air Jam will be a great success and Homecoming 2010 will be 'ROCKIN'!'

Rock the RED!!

Hey everybody, my name is Matt Wells and I am in charge of Community Relations/Sponsorships and Promotions for Homecoming 2010. We are starting to get things together in our preparations for the biggest week of the school year!

Sponsorships and promotions are a huge part of each event that occur throughout the week. As always, the committee is looking for donations from anybody and everybody that wants to be a part of Homecoming! However, a big push this year is bringing the sponsors to the students and connecting the community with our beautiful campus. How is this going to happen? Simple.

Air Jam will include a brand-new "sponsorship row" of local businesses who will be on-site giving away items and information about their companies to interested students. They will be there at the door, waiting on you, and ready to showcase their business on one of the biggest nights of the year. It's too early to unveil who is going to be involved, but it's something to get excited about!

Finally, if anyone wants to get involved with Homecoming on a promotional side or via donation, feel free to contact me at bsuhomecoming10promotions@gmail.com to set up a meeting! I would love to hear from you and I am extremely excited for the week of October 4-9, leading all the way to a battle against MAC West foe Western Michigan!

GO CARDS AND... ROCK THE RED!

What's New this Year!

As the title to this post suggest there are some new things this year's upcoming "Rock the Red" Homecoming 2010.

This is Bryan and I am one of the Special Event Coordinators and my event is going to blow your socks off. Last year was BSU's first ever all campus Flag Football Tournament. What goes best with football and friends? Grilling out of course!

Before the Flag Football Tournament we will be having our first ever "Pimp My Grill" Tailgate Contest. Organizations, Faculty/Staff, alumni, and students will compete for the ULTIMATE TAILGATING PACKAGE!

We potentially might also have a live band to play while the competitors are setting up as well as enjoying themselves before the game!

We will be giving out the awards during halftime of the Championship Game. Awards will be given to divisional winners, an overall winner, and Best Food Entrée!

Get excited for "Rock the Red" and "Pimp My Grill"!

My baby this year is the Flag Football Tournament--yes, it's back for a 2nd run!! This year we've decided on a major change though. Both a semi-finals round AND the championship game will be hosted at Schuemann Stadium. Hopefully this will give more of you a chance to play in the Stadium and generate more EXCITEMENT!
