If you could have any superpower, what would you choose? Would you want to fly, be invisible or maybe possess superhuman strength? In elementary school, I wanted the ability to turn anything into chocolate. In high school, I wished I could freeze time, so I could catch up on much-needed sleep.
As a junior in college, my superpower dreams are even less mature. Now, I would want the ability to wear high heels without my feet hurting and as a bonus, I would want the ability to never have to shave my legs.
Everyone has an idea for his or her most coveted superpower. No matter what age, sex or ethnicity, everyone dreams of being able to do something that no one else can do. The theme for Ball State’s Homecoming 2011, “It’s a Bird … It’s a Game … It’s Homecoming!” gives students, faculty, alumni and community members an opportunity to live out their superhero ambitions.
Whether your favorite superhero is Superman, Batman or maybe even your mom, there is something in our week of homecoming events for you. As this year’s general chairman, I want to invite everyone to participate in our exciting week of events.
Wear a tutu in the Bed Race, build a float for the Parade, fly across the stage in Air Jam or serve as a real-life hero to non-profit organizations in the community in Ball State Saves the Day. No matter what you choose, this is your chance to get out of your comfort zone and make some memories.
So grab your cape and jump into Ball State’s Homecoming 2011!
