Scavenger Hunt Success

When my cell phone clicked to 5:05 I sent out a text that nine halls were waiting in anticipation for. When teams raced around the whisper wall I was blown away by their enthusiasm, spirit, and creatively designed team flags. I could not believe that people voluntarily signed up to a scavenger hunt that I created. The scavenger hunt captured the energy of homecoming and was a perfect way to kick off the week. Nine halls participated in the event with about seventy-five people total. Three of the clues involved a task that must be completed before halls could receive their next puzzle piece and clue. There were nine clues in total with the last one leading to the Student Recreation and Wellness Center for opening day games. When assembled, the puzzle pieces created the homecoming logo. Although the hunt did not go as planned, and I was racing around campus while the Daily News was vigorously trying to contact me, I think that all of the teams enjoyed the hunt and created a homecoming memory. DeHority Hall was the victorious hall with Schmidt/Wilson coming in a close second. I appreciate everyone that participated and was glad to see the Residence Halls getting involved in homecoming.
