Although the temperature is hitting eighties almost everyday, the Homecoming Committee is in full Fall mode. It is hard to believe that it is the second week of classes already, and that homecoming week is just a few weeks away. The Residence Hall Scavenger hunt will open up the week with a cross-campus hunt for puzzle pieces and clues. The route has been set and will include many campus landmarks. The halls will start at 5:00pm and the first team to opening games at the Student Recreation and Wellness center with their puzzle pieces wins. The winning hall will receive front row air jam tickets and milkshakes from Steak and Shake.
I am excited about the event because it is the first year for it and I think it has some great potential to get a lot of people involved in homecoming that would not otherwise. The hunt should bring more people to opening day games which is another bonus. The clues are designed with the superhero themed in mind and "hero's" have to race across campus with their team flag and all members in tow. I can't wait to see which hall wins the hunt on opening day.
